The Artificial Intelligence Institute of Chongqing University was established in 2020. Its predecessor, the Institute of Smart Engineering (ISE), was established in September 2012. It was founded by Professor Song Yongduan, a famous scholar in the field of control, an IEEE fellow, an International Eurasian Academy of Science fellow and a national special expert. At present, it has gathered a group of outstanding domestic and foreign scholars, including overseas famous teachers, high-level foreign experts, top young talents of Chongqing, Chongqing University “Hundred Talents Program” professors and other high-level talents. At present, the institute has 15 full-time researchers, including 10 professors/researchers, 5 associate professors, and more than 100 students pursuing master or doctor degree. Closely focusing on the national “13th Five-Year” energy development program and “2025 Advanced Manufacturing”, the institute combines advanced international technologies and meets the needs of localization, develops advanced control theory and intelligent optimal dispatch of new energy power systems. The institute establishes the theory and technology of intelligent system to support intelligent manufacturing and advanced robotics, and researches the theory and technology of advanced control and detection for intelligent industrial automatic system.
With seven years of development, the institute has made a number of high-quality academic achievements, and has taken charge of 101 national scientific research projects and enterprise military projects, including the National Basic Research Program of China (“973” Program), the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (“863” Program), the international cooperation key projects of National Natural Science Foundation, general projects, youth funds, etc., which made important contributions to the national and local economic development and also laid a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the institute. In the past seven years, the institute has made great achievements in both academic research and engineering development. A total of 516 papers have been published, including 341 SCI papers (150 papers in Q1, 96 papers in Q2, 58 papers in Q3 and 37 papers in Q4), 33 EI core papers. The institute has participated in more than 50 international conferences, published 142 international conference papers, published 14 monographs and authorized 67 invention patents.
