Duan Qichang, male, born in October 1953 in Neijiang, Sichuan Province, is a member of the Communist Party of China.  He is now the director, professor and doctoral supervisor of Rockwell Automation Laboratory, Chongqing University.

He has published more than 70 research papers in International Journal, Control and Decision, Control Theory and Application, Journal of System Simulation and IEEE International Conference.  As the principal and principal investigator, he has undertaken more than 30 projects of Overseas Scholars Fund of the Ministry of Education, Applied basic Research of Chongqing, Natural Science Foundation of Chongqing, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National 973 and horizontal scientific research.  Successively obtain progress prize in science and technology, sichuan province, chongqing science and technology progress, computer application achievement in chongqing, sichuan province, chongqing higher education software won excellent teaching achievement prize, second prize of scientific and technological achievements in chongqing university, chongqing university teaching achievement first prize, excellent teaching material for chongqing university, rockwell automation for best lab director (Award for  Best Lab Director In Appreciation of his Outstanding contribution to Rockwell Automation), Rockwell Automation Teacher  Award and other awards more than 20.

Research interests: Advanced control and application of new energy systems;  Intelligent computing, modeling, control and optimization of complex systems;  Network integrated intelligent control and information processing;  The Internet of things;  Research on the theory and method of virtual brain learning and Autonomous Control;  GPRS, GPS, GIS, RFID and embedded application technology research;  Application research of image recognition and processing;  Study on fault tolerance and reliability of system;  CMIS and FA factory automation systems.

Main Teaching Experience:

Teaching courses include: Electric Drag Control System, Logic Control System, Principle and System of Programmable Controller, Microcomputer Hardware, Software and Interface Technology, Robot Control Technology, Introduction to Automation, Modern Industrial Control Network, etc.
