He received his Ph.D. degree in control science and engineering from Chongqing University, Chongqing, China, in 2002. He is currently the Associate Professor of the School of Automation, Chongqing University.

Dr. Chen has made original contributionsin on Computer engineering and applications, He also held 6 patents, some of which have gone through technology transfer.
