刘切博士主要研究方向包括不确定性人工智能理论、过程控制、生物信息学、复杂工业过程控制与优化,在IEEE Transactions TIE/TCST/TASE、过程控制、化工领域顶级期刊发表论文20余篇,主持国家自然科学基金青年基金、博士后科学基金、重庆市来渝博士后择优资助项目、北京化工大学博士论文创新基金、企业横向项目,参与国家重点研发计划、多项自然科学基金、智能制造项目与企业横向项目。
